The Role of the Director in Preventing Child Abuse at Daycare Centers: Based on the "Manual for Preventing and Responding to Child Abuse at Daycare Center"

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to pay attention to and listen to their various experiences through the role of the director to prevent child abuse at daycare centers. According to this research purpose, eight directors of the workplace daycare center were divided into three groups to conduct focus group interviews and then analyze the collected data. The research results according to data analysis are as follows. First, when hiring, the director lowers the risk of child abuse at daycare centers through interviews and basic preventive education, and meets the standards for careless guidance. Second, the director improves teachers' sensitivity to children's rights through regular preventive education. Third, the director looks into the classroom through regular monitoring and provides appropriate support to prevent the occurrence of repetition of careless guidance (reduce). Fourth, the director improves the professionalism of teachers through case scholarship, and through this, builds trust with the family. Fifth, the director maintains the organization's boundaries against child abuse through the creation of a democratic organizational culture. Sixth, in order to support the director's role in preventing child abuse, a support system at the organizational level through the social safety net must be established along with direct manpower support. Based on the results of this study, implications, policy utilization plans, and future studies for the prevention of child abuse in daycare centers were proposed.
